Over the past week I was given the great opportunity from Canon Australia to photograph the 2015 Kooyong Classic. 
Although the tournament was overshadowed by horrendous typical Melbourne weather, and the first day of action was washed out it didn't stop the players putting on some great matches of tennis. 
Competing in this event were some of the big names in tennis. World number 5 and last years winner Kei Nishikori, Gilles Simon, Richard Gasquet, Feliciano Lopez, Jordan Thompson, Filip Krajinovic & this years winner Fernando Verdasco.

Not only did Canon give me access to photograph the event, they also provided me with some of the best photography gear to shoot the matches with! Most of the time I used the new 7D MKii with a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, but my favourite combination was using the Canon 1D-X with the Canon 200-400mm f/4 lens from up in the stands! I have never used anything like those cameras before and it made shooting the event so much fun and easy!
